Women in Super Steering Committee convenes the first Women in Super Network event

about psdi

The Women in Super Steering Committee, with support from PSDI, convened the first Women in Super Network event on 19 February, bringing together representatives of seven superannuation funds in Pacific five countries.

The event provided a platform for Pacific Islands Investment Forum (PIIF) member funds to meet the Steering Committee, discuss the upcoming Women in Super CEO Forum, and offer feedback on the direction of the Women in Super initiative, which aims to promote women’s fair and equal access to retirement fund benefits.

Discussion focused on a follow-up survey to the March 2023 baseline survey, which examined the capabilities of PIIF members in areas relating to women’s access to retirement fund benefits. Based on the findings of the baseline survey, a set of resolutions were adopted at the 2023 PIIF CEO forum. The follow-up survey will track the implementation of the Women in Super resolutions and the responses will inform a progress update to be presented at the 2025 CEO forum in April in Fiji.

The Women in Super Network was established under the PIIF Secretariat to formalize collaboration between the funds to support implementation of the Women in Super initiative. The initiative, which was launched in 2023builds on a diagnostic study that PSDI undertook to identify the barriers to women’s access to retirement and non-retirement funds.
