Women in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands are underrepresented in senior leadership roles, particularly in state-owned enterprises.

Seven women leaders from Solomon Islands recently completed the inaugural Solomon Islands Women SOE Directors Development Pilot Program in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, with support from PSDI and the Government of Australia through the Solomon Islands-Australia Partnership for Governance.

The program brought together women directors, senior executives, and managers from PNG and Solomon Islands to complete the PNG Institute of Directors’ 3-day Director Development Program, including the launch of a dedicated new module focused on SOE leadership, developed with PSDI support.
